Councillor Patrick Sellar

Patrick Sellar is married to Jenny and has two daughters and four grand daughters. Patrick was first elected to represent East Ward in May 1996 and represents the Council on the outside bodies of Howard de Walden Youth and Community Centre , the Maidstone Area Arts Council, The Cultural Panel to award funding to Arts projects in the Borough. He is also Treasurer of the Maidstone Beauvais Twinning Association, Chairman of the Licensing Committee and also of Licensing Act 2003 Committee. Music has been his life-long hobby, as well as singing, conducting children and church choirs, and touring with them throughout Europe, Patrick and his wife belong to the REALLY BIG CHORUS which arranges concerts in London and around the world.

In January this year, Patrick reported many street nameplates as being damaged or missing. Patrick has complained to Maidstone Borough Council that several have still not been mended or replaced. He has been assured that this will be dealt with quickly, and will be keeping a close watch to make sure action is taken.
