I back the Lib Dem 5 steps to a safer Britain campaign.

1. More police on patrol (don't waste billions on ID cards)

2. Increase power of Local Authorities to control pubs and clubs, including opening hours

3. Make sentences mean what they say - life should mean life

4. Compulsory work and training in prison - to cut reoffending

5. Better compensation for vistoms - paid for by prison work
